Two additional things to check for a buzzing reed:

(1) Is the reed fastened tightly to the reed plate?
If not, you might have to peen the rivet a little to tighten it.

(2) Is the reed aligned with the reed plate slot all along the length of the reed?
Hold the reed plate up to a strong light and visually check the alignment. Check
if the reed is parallel to the slot but slightly offset within the slot to one side.
Sometimes the reed is slightly off center in the slot from the manufacturer.
