[Harp-L] history of bluegrass harmonica

In addition to Jimmy Riddle's harp work with Roy Acuff in the Forties, he recorded several LPs on the Cumberland label in the Sixties that straddled the fence. His versions of such tunes as Wildwood Flower, Sally Goodin, John Henry, Columbus Stockade Blues and others are killer examples of his style. Check out "Country Harmonica" on Cumberland MGC 29511 (mono version) or Cumberland SRC 69511 (stereo version).
He also contributed to a wacky "eefen nanny" album on the same label. The cover alone is worth the price, should you happen to find a copy.
