Noise is music too.  I've heard plenty of people playing washboards with Cajun bands.  Washboards don't sing in any sense of the word. They make noise when you tap or scrape them.  We could say the same about a drumkit--it's just a bunch of pieces of wood, metal, and skin that you bang on to make noises that might or might not sound like music.  What makes it sound like music (or not) is the player.  The same goes for pianos, guitars, harps, and overly amplified noise.
