Re: [Harp-L] Keith Mitchell's Photos

The trio in the photo (Photo 57 of 90) is comprised of chord player Alex Windmeyer, bass player Norman Patton, and chromatic player Tom Stryker, outgoing president of SPAH.

They were performing the Harmonicats' arrangement of "Peg O' My Heart" as part of the nightly Youth Cameo at the SPAH 2012 convention.

This cameo featured thirteen-year-old Alex, who performed the famous Alan Pogson chord harmonica solo (played by Al Fiore in the Harmonicats' recording) that states the melody of the tune in chords. He asked Norman and Tom to complete the ensemble (the Don Les and Jerry Murad roles respectively) for this performance.

The youth cameos presented two youth performers each night, partly to showcase their abilities and partly to raise funds so that SPAH can make travel grants next year to allow deserving youth to attend the SPAH convention.

At the convention SPAH raised $1500 toward our goal of $5000 for heling youth attend the 2013 SPAH convention. Among the contributors were PT Gazell, Rupert Oysler of Seydel Harmonicas, and James Cotton.

I'll be posting more soon on the youth fund (full name: The William Rosebush Youth Fund), with information on how you can donate.

does anyone know who the trio was in Keith Mitchell's photos?  they are
shown in the first photo on the third page of his pics.   the trio is made
up of two young men playing chord and bass and an older guy playing
chromatic.
