I have had tinnitus for at least a decade. I played harp in a band that had a guitar player that was way too loud and I used to shoot guns without hearing protection a long time ago. Because the gun thing was a long time ago, I bekieve that it was from way too loud music
 
It just so happens that I had my hearing checked just a couple of weeks ago and asked what I could do to get relief. The short answer is not much
 
Blood pressure pplays into the problem
 
There are "white noise" things that can be of help
 
There are some herbal remedies that I have tried with no effect
