Starting with a C harmonica makes sense, since you'll probably be reading. I
recommend the 4-octave Hohner Super 64 -- many melodies go down into the
first octave of the 64. Although at about $250, it's more than your price.
For a 3-octave I really like the Hohner 270 Deluxe. Both of these are fine
instruments with a warm tone. Good luck!
