Re: [Harp-L] What Cable?

Hi Greg,

Yes, that's what I am saying. A hi-Z unbalanced mic requires the same cable as a
hi-Z guitar/instrument. The number of exclusively hi-Z, unbalanced mics produced
today can be counted on one hand, therefore they are of little interest to the
cable manufacturers who aim at the guitar/instrument market, rather than
specifically at the hi-Z mic market.

Hi Ron, I'm sure the cable that Chuck supplies is great & very well
made/finished, but I doubt that the cable stock itself (conductors, dielectric,
shielding) is exclusive to him & made specifically for microphones, rather than
for "hi-Z instruments/guitars".

Mark, Instruments like electrics guitars ARE unbalanced, high impedance devices,
just like microphones.

Instrument leads tend to sound clearer, these are rarely
>designed specifically for microphones, they are usually designed for
>guitar/instruments, because unbalanced Hi-Z mics are pretty much a thing of
the
>past & there's no market for them.
