The Zoom 9.2 is the top-of-the-line Zoom with a 12AX7 tube in addition to various modeled amps--I have no doubt that it will make killer sounds.

As noted previously, I'm working on a set of patches for the Zoom G2NU, mainly because I think that plenty of players would like a simple multi-FX unit that sounds good and runs on batteries. I don't think most harp players are likely to spend more than $200 for an amp modeling device, which is fine, because you can get a lot of great sounds out of the devices in that price range. But if I'm correct in that assumption, then there's not much incentive for anyone to develop patch sets for the high-end devices like the Zoom 9.2 and the Line 6 HD, except for personal use.

Please keep me on the loop on this discussion. I am slowly coming over to the multi-FX console users' side of things. I have always been a vintage purist type of player/user but I am doing some experimenting with my Zoom G9.2 which has 2 programmable foot expression type pedals and patches that I think may be very similar to the RP355 stuff.

I am currently trying to create a couple of pitch shifting patches myself and am very interested in this as well as some other custom patch ideas that I have. If there is anyone out there that does/sells Zoom patches like what Richard is doing for the RP, I would be VERY interested.

Thanks,
Buck

As Richard mentioned, these are "out-of-the-box" designed for guitar and Richard Hunter has built some patches to "change" this to a harmonica processor - sort of speak. I must say that I like the many sounds/settings his patches provide and it sure beats trying to get the many quality sounds myself - Thanks Richard - you saved me many hours getting great sounds! Digitech RP355s now sell around $175-200, which I think is great. Plus, I believe (hopefully not wrong here) you can get a $20 rebate before June 30.

I've thought about working up some patches for the Line 6 HD, but the fact is that the cheapest HD model sells for about $300, and that's half again as expensive as a Digitech RP355. I don't think most harp players are willing to throw down that much on a very new (for harp players) approach to amplification.

If you want something right now, my Digitech patch set and an RP355 will do a great job. Did I mention that the pitch shifter in the Digitechs works a LOT better than the Line 6 versions? If there's anything in my Digitech that I can't live without, it's the pitch shifter--once you've heard a low octave doubler, it's hard to give it up.
