Re: [Harp-L] Speaking of amp stands...

This seems like an application for an in-ear monitor. You can pay big bucks for them but I found a cheap solution for a friend.

I fixed up a guitarist with impaired hearing in our retirement-community band with a $25 Radio Shack device that worked for him and might work for you. See

I put it in front of his amp and plugged in a pair of ear buds.
Now he can hear his own instrument at at amp levels that are appropriate for the band and audience.

Although you are not hearing-impaired, this set-up (or something like it) allows you to set the level of what you hear and what others hear independently. It also frees you to locate your amp where the audience hears it best without having to consider its function as your monitor.

If you took your amp to the store, I'll bet they would let you try it out before buying.
