Re: [Harp-L] Epiphone mods

I would strongly siuggest that harp players interested in a small
inexpensive amp forget the Epi Valve jr and its mods and check out a stock
VHT Special 6 amp first. I've played both, stock and modified, and the VHT
is a much better sounding harp amp, and much louder.

No matter what you do to the Epi VJr, you still have an EL84 amp with that
distinctive guitar amp sound. With the VHT you start with a 6V6 amp with a
much warmer tone. There is a good reason so many classic vintage harp amps
were based on the 6V6 tube. Plus, the VHT is point-to-point hand wired,
just ike the classic tweed amps.
