I think it's harder to play harmonica than guitar.
You can learn 3 chords with guitar and you can sing while playing. It
can already be some music. While playing harmonica requiers ability to
play melody and harmonica player usually needs some accompainment. You
can't sing while playing harmonica.
It's really hard to make guitar (or any plucking string instrument or
keyboard) string playing unpleasant, it can be dull and boring yes,
but not unpleasant, while any beginner harmonica player (also any wind
or bow instrument) need some pratice to avoid producing unpleasant
tone.
