[Harp-L] Sonny Jr-1 for sale

My buddy Pete Sheridan is selling his Sonny Jr.

Pete is 72 yrs. old and weights around 140 lbs wet.:) His days of lugging a couple amps to gigs is over.

Below is a cut and paste he sent to me and some local players. You can contact him direct if interested.

Harp Mates,

Just wanted o give you all a heads up on the fact that I'm putting my Sonny Jr SJ-1 up for sale on my web site soon. Reasons:

1) I have too many amps!

2) I recently put together my ultimate harp/guitar rig with the help of Dave Sarge. I found a 1955 Les Paul amp that some guy's grandfather had chopped up many years ago - He lost the original cabinet & speaker and put the amp to into a separate head style cabinet. I had Dave put the amp back to original specs and mounted it in my own cabinet with four 8-inch speakers, just like the Sonny Jr. It has 2 channels with 4 inputs (2 each per channel) plus tremolo, so I can dedicate one of the channels for harp and the other one with tremolo for guitar. I just finished wiring it up today, checked it out with harp and guitar, and it's all the amp I will ever need.

The Sonny Jr is one of the first 88 made, and the Pyle speakers have been replaced with 4 vintage Jensens out of an old Harmony bass amp, which I used many years ago for harp. They beat the pants off the Pyles, as anyone who has heard this amp can attest to. I had the cabinet professionally lacquered and the amp looks factory fresh, and comes with the original Tuki cover. For an amp strictly for harp, it can't be beat, but since I'm playing a lot of guitar these days I needed something with more channels and features. That's why I picked up the Les Paul amp. (I loaded the cabinet with 4 more Jensens.)

I will be listing the SJ-1 on my web site soon at $1450 plus S&H. This price is firm, as the speakers alone are worth at least $200. If you know of any harp players looking for a great harp amp, made the way they used to do it, please pass this info on to them. Anyone who can pick up the amp in person can save the $&H costs, which I estimate to be close to $100.

Play on!
