Yes, to make the harp more air-tight!
 
I've used Tony Dannecker harps for 20 years, but not  exclusively... Tony 
Danneker sure knows how to build a good  harmonica....
 
It seems that ALL the "harp-techs who customise harmonicas bring THEIR  
expertise, to produce a better mouth organ.
