[Harp-L] RE: Best thing ever said

This has been a fun thread. I can think of some "not so nice " things said about my playing over the years (some of which was unfortunately justified!) but here's a few memorable ones:
1. Years ago I was trying out an amp that another harp player was selling. When I was done he said, "Man, I'd kill to have your tone!" Interesting thing is that I NEVER thought I had much of a tone before then but certainly have been mindful of it since.
2. I was backing up the late Chico Chism, Howling Wolf's last drummer, one time and he turned around and said "John, you're a downtown player!" OK, not 100% sure what he meant but I took that as a compliment. Chico was a real character.
3. At a jam, another player was going up right after me and said, "I guess I should just turn around and go home now." He wasn't that bad, really, and I wasn't that much better but I took the compliment.
