TinLizzie, I just get the water warm and then put a bar of Ivory in the tank as I fill it. Take soap bar out and drop in the harp pieces. After running it once (30 second timer) I turn the parts over and hit it again. Seems to do a good job of knocking all the "mouth mud" off.
