[Harp-L] Lee Oskars v. Marine Bands - the "breaking in" debate

I forget -- wasn't it determined here on Harp-L that scientific evidence shows that breaking in metal reeds is a myth?  Perhaps breaking in only consists of the beneficial affect of accumulated dead skin cell gunk that seals air leakage.  If memory serves me correctly, doesn't one of our esteemed harp-L members have a standing offer of $1000 to anyone who can prove otherwise?    ;)
