Re: [Harp-L] Suzuki at SPAH

Good choice in your decision to work with Suzuki.

I've been collecting some key A harps to test various harps OOTB
against each other. The Manji is the best in terms of reed
playability, from low to high notes, of the ones I've tried. Exterior
does need some sharp edges smoothed which took a few minutes to
quickly do. Easy to smooth any sharp corners on the plastic combed
Suzukis with a pocket knife.

The Manji should be really good with some embossing and reed work. But
for a player such as yourself, I'd expect that most OOTB Manji's would
be quite playable.

In terms of exterior profile, I really like the Harpmaster. Full
length covers would make it perfect. Slightly different profile to the
Bluesmaster.

I've found that playability seems indistinguishable between Suzukis
when comparing between several Bluesmasters or Harpmasters in the same
keys, to each other. Tried with three key A Bluesmasters and 6 key C
Harpmasters.

I've found that Suzuki manufacturing quality really good and
consistent and the harps sound great. This coupled with the much
better pricing than Hohner makes Suzuki harps really appealing.

The current scenario kind of reminds me of the strategy employed by
the Japanese auto makers?
