Tony,

I published this earlier, but for anyone who might have missed it,
and is interested, here is the Les Thompson site once more.

http://www.bassharp.com/lesthomp.htm

And a copy of my recent (08/31/09) email to Harp-L, including some minor
corrections published a bit later:

"To All:

I just got off the phone with Les' daughter, Leslie, and she advised me that
her father is still doing well, physically, but continues to suffer with dementia,
as he has had for the past few years. He is now 86 years old, and living in a
medical facility where he has excellent care. Doesn't play much harmonica
anymore, though he does still remember some of the intricacies of playing.

Les was a great player, as most are aware, but he was also a great
friend for a number of years - see http://www.bassharp.com/lesthomp.htm

It will also be noted that - in viewing the previously referenced you-tube clip
- he played the chromatic "left-handed," or upside down. He played the
16-hole rather than 12-hole, and was not a reader. None of this seemed to
detract from his genius, however.

He sends his regards to all, and wishes he could get out and jump into the
jams with everyone.

Best to all,
Danny"
