One cheap one is the Reaper DAW - there are several plug-ins for 
amp-modeling and other "guitar type" effects as well as the usual 
recording assortment of reverb, chorus, delay, etc. I know there are 
others out there like Peavey Revalver 
(http://www.peavey.com/products/revalver/) and Guitar Rig 
(http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/guitar/guitar-rig-4-pro/) 
but Reaper is only $60 (free to try).
