Re: [Harp-L] Super Loud Bands

Not really addressing the question, but an interesting comment -

I'm interested in what the players that DO enjoy it find in the way of
musicianship, synergy between players, relating to each other and the audience,
etc. Those that seem to enjoy it also seem to enjoy playing super loud
MOST if not ALL night. There have been times when it appeared that the band
was really digging it super loud at the same time the audience was sitting
with fingers in their ears and eventually walking out. I could never figure
this one out..

There is no contrast that says it is either super loud OR super quietly. It
isn't an either/or. One can play with tons of energy and very impressive
power without resorting to being super loud.

Nothing to explain, is my guess. "different strokes for different folks".
The people that DO enjoy what you are describing would probably ask "Where
is the fun in playing super quietly? Where is the energy? The power?".
