Re: [Harp-L] Bach and that pesky B note

I had the same problem a few days ago, playing a Bach invention.

I simply played a blow bend on hole 1 (C > B).

What I did on some harps: I play diminished chroms where I retune the enharmonic (i.e. hole 1 D# = hole 2 Eb) on the hole 1.

Example:
REGULAR C-DIMI:
Hole:       1  2
Blow:       C Eb
Blow-Slide: C# E
Draw:       D  F
Draw-Slide: D# F#

RETUNED C-DIMI (D# -> B)
Hole:       1  2
Blow:       C Eb
Blow-Slide: C# E
Draw:       D  F
Draw-Slide: *B* F#

Another simple way is to just play certain passages an octave higher (has to fit with other instruments, though).

best regards
Buzap
