Re: [Harp-L] I've been asked to sit in.

I have to agree w/ Iceman...you could really get into some prob's here as the song goes thru lots of tonal centers which reg position playing won't be so 'kind' too,-)

why not pick something like:

Bobby Timmons MOANIN'
Sonny Rollins DOXY or SONNYMOON FOR TWO
Duke's DON'T GET AROUND MUCH or MELLOWTONE
Cannonball's MERCY MERCY MERCY

all quite comfy in 2nd and no OB's to deal with....

just my 2cents...
have fun with it....
Best,
Rob

As a blues player the song that first leaps out of their repertoire as 'do

I figure if i nail this they might be impressed enuff to ask me to
do another one..
Before i try and work it out myself i thought i would ask a kind person(is
there any other sort on the Harp L) to suggest how to approach it?
I can only confidently play in second.(I know i know).
Geez these guys(even the drummer!) can read charts.
Ah well they must like my sound and i'm cheap..2 pints will do it.
Sweet Georgia brown what do you think?

Choose another song.

This one is not so 'do able' w/out some confident semi-advanced techniques.
