Re: [Harp-L] 545 handleing noise

I think it does affect the sound quality.
My fix is wrap a rubberband around the gap (over the mesh) put on three small beads of hot glue, then cut away the rubber band between the beads, the band keeps the glue out of the mesh and makes it easy to pop off the beads in case you need to open up the head of the mic. Experiment w/ bead size according to comfort, I find w/ small beads and a hair tie wrapped around the mic below the beads gives me a better grip.

Subject: [Harp-L] 545 handleing noise

what are anyone's opinion on taping the floating head of a Shure 545 to
cut down on handling noise, does it or does it not cut tonal quality to
a point where it is a factor to be of that much of an issue
