Re: [Harp-L] Upside Down Harmonica playing (was Grandpa Elliot)

Yes, it is what feels good and has done for nearly 30 years but i wonder if there's also something about the wring of the left handed brain that works better with notes ascending from right to left rather than left to right and whether left handed newbie chrom players might be better advised to play upside down rather than buy an adapted harp.

A bunch of people play/played left handed(upside down),
  including:
  James Cotton,
  Paul Butterfield
  Dr Ross
  Sonny Terry
  What ever feels good.

I wonder how many of them are left handed. I am and I also hold the harp upside down in my right hand, I just picked it up that way when i started playing because it seemed the natural thing to do. If they sound good, maybe it's because us southpaws are naturally more creative lol!
