Re: [Harp-L] Harp Depot

We've certainly seen *lots* of complaints about Harp Depot here over the years, and I have my own bad experience with them. This new one just sounds like they are doing business as usual, and with practices like that I suspect it's only the unsuspecting new fish that keep them afloat, or using new names like buying the Harp House name to hide behind. Harp House was very good back when John Francis was running it, IMHO, then he left and things seemed to go downhill fast from there.

But I don't think I'd throw C2C into that mix. That particular dealer has shown me nothing but outstanding customer service and response over the years. They are more involved in the harp community than just "selling stuff", John Watts also runs the harptalk discussion area on yahoo which is pretty busy and has lots of members. Their web site is very good, they offer club memberships and discounts, ship fast and always let me know immediately if something I order is out of stock. When I order stuff from them, I get it *real* fast. I have no relationship with them other than as a (hard to) satisfied customer.

Do you have any evidence to make the statement that C2C is "close to going belly up"?

These days you can lose your money from anyone, not just the little guys. Lots of big businesses have gone out unexpectedly. That's why I use credit cards, for an extra measure of protection.
