The video has a malformed video I.D. (or so my computer tells me).
Since I played this same tune with him...oh...around 2003?, I would
be very interested in seeing this video. Do you have another link?

smo-joe

you probably included either one of the parenthesis or the _ when you scanned it - so I recopied it: just click on this link...it's GREAT!

Ok, I got it.

- you never told me you met him?

Yeah. Here's the story: Most won't wanna read this and should delete it right now.....push 'trash'

The wife and I had gone to the spah Dallas 2003. After blowing a tire on the Achtafalaya causeway on the way and nearly getting killed trying to change it, I came home a little disappointed. There had been a chromatic matinee and I wasn't invited to play, so I spent the afternoon with Will Galison and his master class.
So, after blowing another tire on the same causeway on the return to Fla., I decided to stop in NOLa. The wife had never been there. It had changed quite a bit in the dozen years since I had been there last. Lots of security. LOTZ of security.

It was late Sunday night and the only place I could find was the Holiday Inn at a whopping $125 samoleones a night. Went down to Bourbon. The wife took pictures of me in front of various famous (and INfamous) clubs with her new Cannon digital, while I held a harp in my hand. (note: I have pictures from around the world like this, lolol). It's a put on. It's a take off on people who have pictures taken with every human on the planet, and then put them on myspace and websites.

Anyway, Monday, we were back in the Vieux Carre and happened onto Jackson Sq. where I had a picture taken in front of St. Louie. This kid runs over and makes a big scene. Tells me his dad (or maybe he said grand dad) is the greatest harmonica player and tries to drag us down the street. The wife AIN'T going for it.

So meanwhile, anyone who knows the area knows that the square has shops on both sides on a raised sidewalk. There's this old dude sitting on a short stool. Like a bar stool, only real short. He's playing harp and this other guy is on guit-fiddle. The kid is jibber jabbering and they want me to play. I asks if they know High Heel Sneakers or Fannie Mae.
(note: I do it as Cassie Mae because that's the wife's name). note: I'm a big Buster Brown & Tommy Tucker fan. Add Major Lance, Ernie K. Doe, and a dozen others.

Ok, we do the tune and he does the same thing he does in the video. He doesn't take the rest. It should go:
Well, I want somebody........ draw chord draw chord
To tell me what's wrong with me......... baaa dap a dap
Oh well I want some-body... draw chord
To tell me what's wrong with me.......... Ba da-da-da da dap

That's the way I did it Thursday and will tomorrow night. Otherwise it was all very very cool. Btw, the wife found NOLa scary. Oh well.

wow - I LOVE this guy - he's one of my youtube friends - have you seen the other Playing for change videos?

No, as you know, my linkup is dead slow.

I'm absolutely NUTS about the song he does on stage with Clarence Bekkers - earlier this year - (Sam Cooke's: A Change is Gonna Come) - it's completely brilliant - so if you want that one too - I'll send it after this - I've been unable to stop singing (and playing that one) :)
