In 1936 the U.S. adopted the American Standard pitch of A=440 c.p.s. (cycles per second, a.k.a. "Hertz"), and three years later, in 1939, the rest of the countries followed, so that A-440 Hz is now international standard pitch. So, why does Lee Oskar tune their "A"s to 441?
