Re: [Harp-L] Jamming along with Hills Blues Collective Tracks

Hi Ben,

Thank you for listening.

You use a stagepas too? Man I got a quick question. I recorded my harp over the tracks using the stagepas as a mixer and then line out to the Zoom H2. My major problem was with finding the right mix balance. I thought the mix was good through the speakers but when I play 'em back the Harp was sitting WAY too upfront and putting the band WAY behind. In subsequent takes, I needed to lower the harp channel to a point where I almost can't feel the amped up sound and rely on the acoustic sounds near the mouth. But the resultant mix was good.

How did you overcome this problem of "what you hear over the air ain't what was recorded"?

Hi Louis

Great to hear you like the backing tracks.
I recorded these with my former band , the MarbleTones. I tried to choose the keys that are useful for a harpplayer , like Dm for c harp or C chrom in 3rd position etc.

I liked your recordings... you had a good sound coming out of the V-amp. I use a Digitech RP 350 and I also have ( like you have) a Yamaha PAS 300 set and a Danelectro Honey tone.....

There were a number of slip ups, "losing balance" etc...:) Please kindly check them out and give your comments.
