Re: [Harp-L] backing tracks

Hi Chris and all the "L",

I use a lot of Jamey Aebersold, which I find more appealing than Band in the Box, but, between the two sources I have more material than I can possibly ever sample. I use Band in the Box for anything I don't have an Aebersold track for and anything I am composing. I prefer to use the Jamey Aebersold for practice because the aesthetic quality is so much higher, but when I need to learn a tune I don't have on that medium and, again to test out new compositions, I use Band in the Box all the time. Ask David Fairweather about the latest version of Band in the Box. He loves it as it tries to overcome the stiff sound characteristic of earlier versions.

Michael

Subject: [Harp-L] backing tracks

I was just wondering. I've been trying to spend more time playing and practicing and I was wondering what you all like to use for backing tracks. I've been thinking about getting band in a box so I could put in chord changes from some of the sheet music I have and then play along with that. But I wanted to get some input from other list members. I already have multi-track software, a drum machine, keyboard, guitars, etc. but I would really like to get something that would allow me to create backing tracks by putting in chord changes.
