Re: [Harp-L] Chris Michalek plays Sax?

Saxy? I know a lot of people compare my contemporary jazz sound to a
soprano sax. I think it's more about the style of playing, note
choice, vibrato and correct intonation that gives it that effect.

The HOG is a totally different thing. I love the wicked sound it
produces but it doesn't make *me* think saxophone when I use it.

However, I often do imagine hearing other instruments while I play and
try to emulate that sound but what I play and what I imagine is
dependent on the music. It's for this reason alone that I talk about
channeling music. If I play say Purple Haze I think of Hendrix and
tap into his essence. In general, I believe everything and anything
that we as humans would want to know is available from what some call
the Source, collective consciousness, grand record banks etc... it's
all cosmic vibration to me. Like the law of attraction, you if you
think it, believe it, then it will manifest. With music, because it's
already at an ethereal or celestial level things manifest immediately.
