Re: [Harp-L] Laptop Recording and PreSonus Blue Tube Preamp

Gary-

I don't think the Presonus Blue Tube mic preamp has a USP out, so using it
directly with your laptop might be difficult. I have 2 of the Presonus
TubePre preamps (mono versions of the Blue Tube) that plug into the
break-out cable of the sound card in my desk-top computer. The connections
are balanced TRS and XLR, not USB.

You may be able to accomplish it with a USB interface, but most of those
already have integrated mic preamps. Perhaps someone can recommend a simple
two-channel XLR-to-USB device.

Having said all that, I can tell you that the Presonus gear makes beautiful
recordings. Their little hardware compressor, the Comp16, is also very
impressive.
