[Harp-L] re: harmonica cost

I bought an amp and speaker for $200.00 back in 1986. Spent $100.00 for a
green bullet. I spent $100.00 to have the amp maintained and retubed. Spent
another $100.00 for Tonebones, which converted my 50 watt silverface bassman
(not a harp friendly amp at all) into a triode 8L 84 8 watts amp. Spent
$300.00 for a Carvin 2X12 speaker cabinet, cover, and speaker stand. So for
harp equipment, in 22 years, I spent $800.00.

By the way, if you have an amp that's not quite doing it for you--try the
Tonebones:

I would never have believeved that all you need to do is take out two tubes
and put in the Tone bones and get a radically different amp, but it really
works.

For harps I use Lee Oskars and they last 3-5 years at $25.00 each. Mostly I
just replace the A,C, and D--they get the most use, so maybe I'm spending
$25.00 a year for harps.

I thought about this the other night, standing out on a friend's porch, the
music wailing, kids dancing, the sun setting on the river--I've gotten my
money's worth.
