Re: [Harp-L] Charlie Musselwhite

Charlie Musselwhite ! While all of the legends were influential Memphis Charlie did it for me the most with his bold, brazen, rockified approach to bluesharp. My first exposure to this harp pioneer was at the tender age of 18 when at my friend Daves' house he played his older brothers STAND BACK album for me.. I was blown away and promptly seeked out and bought every album I could find by him. If you like The Harmonica according to Musselwhite may I suggest 'LOUISIANA FOG' (Cherry Red Records 1968) 'STONE BLUES'~smokin'~(Vanguard 1968) 'LEAVE THE BLUES TO US' (Capitol 1975) , 'TENNESSEE WOMAN '...with an appearance by Rod Piazza on one fo the cuts ! (Vanguard 1969), 'MEMPHIS TENNESSEE' (Paramount), 'TAKIN MY TIME' (Arhoolie 1971) ... Check out some pics of him and other harp players @myspace.com/racnroll
