[Harp-L] When embossing

So, If embossed slots change the sound of the harp, which sound is preferred?. What would happen if both sides of the reed plate were embossed? This would seem to create a channel between the two embossed surfaces, which could affect the airflow. Would this perhaps choke the reed easier?

If FJM's theory is correct, and it sounds reasonable, that you have to overcome the surface tension created by the sharp edge, it would seem that we are having to use more air pressure than would be necessary if you could just move the whole edge of the slot over and leave the square edge.
