[Harp-L] Re: Bass Harmonica Books

Hello, Bob.

Here are two of my favorite bass harmonica method books. I've been playing
bass for about 11 years, and it's great fun. If you are a bass guitar player,
your learning of the bass harmonica will be easier than a person who has no
musical instrument background.

Learning to play the Bass Harmonica, by Judy Simson-Smith(1984), Simson &
Smith Publications, 2398 Southern Rd.
Richfield, OH 44286-9520. Phone: (330) 659-6458. The Simpson & Smith
Publications are sold at J.L Dyer Music, 337-S.16th St.,
Otsego, MI 49078. Phone: (616)694-6052. Simpson-Smith Publications also
offers superb books written for the chord harmonicas.

The Bass Harmonica, Vol. I and Vol.II, by Robert Bethiaume (1985). The 2
books include an audio tape for each book. Book 1 is for beginners, and book 2
is for intermediate to advanced players. The books were self-published by
Berthiaume, but they are now available at Danny Wilson's website:
_www.bassharp.com_ (http://www.bassharp.com) .

Good Luck, and keep playing Bass.
