RE: [Harp-L] Intermediate Player

I've been variously diagnosed as an intermediate player.
I !!think!! It means that you have a functional acquaintance withtechniques
like bending, tongue-blocking, puckering, vibrato, wah-wah, (I just
substantially cleaned up mine in today's lesson with Michael Rubin.)... And
that maybe you've played the harmonica with other people... And those other
people didn't get up and leave or ask you to please not do that again...
I'd also think that at least being able to conceive of playing say, a
diatonic in something other than first/second position might be an
intermediate trait, but that one might not really be as important as all
that.
For a definition of intermediate chromatic harmonica, you'll have to hope
someone else responds because I'm so pre-embryonic with that one that Papa
has yet to cast that first longing look at Mamma...
I'd lastly venture that if you play with other people who don't know much
about harmonica technique.. And if those people compliment you..., then
you're probably an intermediate harmonica player.
I personally hope this thread might be one of those that stretches round the
world because I'd be interested in what advanced players think about
"intermediacy".

Subject: [Harp-L] Intermediate Player

There was a recent posting about a teaching seminar for intermediate level
harmonica players. What skills/attributes would define beginning and
intermediate level players.
