Re: [Harp-L] Mojo

Jeff,

Never really a believer of mojo, either, myself. I just had this coyote skin in the workshop... it had one whisker and couldn't think of another use for it. If mojo were to actually exist, I'd say coyote whiskers would have plenty of it. But, I do have rattlesnake rattles in my mandolins and fiddle. That's not really for the rattlesnake mojo, but just as a way to embrace my Applachian music heritage. As for the sand, it's a little comforting to have that with me, makes me think of home. Where I grew up, you could wade a mile of the river, fishing it is like fishing a trout stream, shallow water, fast current. I could just go to the backyard and step in the river and start fishing, or walk up the river a half mile and swim. I still hate swimming in swimming pools, the chlorine really gets my eyes. I still like to swim in real water. You just didn't walk more than a half mile downriver, you could get in trouble. Right where I grew up, there was a shoals
above me, then some kind of weird rock formation that made for a flat sandy bottom for a mile there at the house, about 100 yards wide, calf deep in summertime with a swift current. About a half mile downriver, there like a rock cliff in the formation, the river goes from six inches to 15 feet suddenly, the river slows down, dumps its sand and in a few feet, you do from solid ground to about twenty feet of quicksand under water. Had a great time on that river growing up.
I like to joke that back home, there were only two things to do really, smoke marijuana or enjoy the river. I never touched the Devil's weed, so the river was very special to me indeed.

I suppose those really nice cases you make already come stock dripping with mojo.

Dave

hey Dave....never been much into mojo, but I'm a big believer in KARMA
(way before......my name is Earl) Same idea, different sides of the
street. Belief is belief in my book.

Jeff
