Re: [Harp-L] Pittsburgh's James King

Chizmo Charles is 75 years old. Talked with him the last time I was in the 'Burgh' (May 2007). He's still around. Yes, James got around. Don't know what got him?

I've been lurking here for awhile, but I HAD to de-lurk to ask a
question. If I'm following the thread correctly, I think it was Frank
Franze that mentioned James King had passed. I'm a relocated
Pittsburgher and have spent a lot of time in South Side bars listening
to great music(though not near enough). Didn't James King front "The
Usual Suspects", and play harp with "Chismo Charles and the Mystic
Knights of the Sea"? Is this the same LATE James King? Man, I loved
Chismo and the Knights. . .Chismo must be ANCIENT by now, but he was a
blast every time I saw him. Last I heard, he was performing his OTHER
great love - Polkas!

What happened to James, if I could ask? Guy was a great performer,
and far too young to die. I LOVED his rendition of "Who Do You Love"
with the Knights. It's hard to believe he's passed.

Thanks in advance,
