Hi Winslow,
This is what I did....
The program Transcribe! has a spectrum analyser, I imported a recording
of the notes on a G harmonica and found that the note on the 7 hole suck
produces two clear peaks...the F# at the C5 range and an F# at the C6
range (on the piano) so without realising it, we actually do hear the
high octave note as well. This doesn't happen on all other
instruments...try it!
