The Sunset Concert Series at the new Peg Egan Performing Arts Center outdoor amphitheater on Church Street in Egg Harbor presents a tribute to the amphitheater's namesake at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27.

Playing "A Tribute to Peg Egan" is Howard Levy's Chicago Jazz All-Stars, featuring a selection of jazz standards and new compositions by Levy, Jeremy Kahn and Larry Kohout.

Grammy award-winning musician Levy is acknowledged as the world's most advanced diatonic harmonica player, while also playing the piano, flute, mandolin, saxophone and percussion. Levy is an original member of Bela Fleck's Flecktones, and he's toured and recorded with Kenny Loggins, Styx, Paul Simon and John Prine.

Pianist Kahn has performed across the world with musicians such as Dizy Gillespie, Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell, and has been a featured soloist at the Chicago Jazz Festival. Bassist Kohout has played with Mel Torme, Tony Bennett and many others and is heard on more than 30 albums.

OK, Davy here.

On a weather perfect evening, I was there to witness some of the best harmonica that there is to hear. One person that was not listed was a sax player named Eric Schneider. He was a fantastic compliment to Howard's ability and talent.

When Howard played "love for sale" I just about fell over.

Everytime I hear him, he just gets better.

If that's possible.

Cheers to all.

Davy
