Re: [Harp-L] Buying harps on Ebay

Chromatica and the similarPolyphonia models are uaed frquently in all-harmonica bands. The tuning of this instrument is something only a specialist can play. People who "usually don't play harmonica, but are bugged by their conductor to do so" would find it very difficult indeed to play anything on a chromatic that didn't sound like a cow on ice skates.

"Orchestral harmonica" is an often-used term for harmonicas that are used primarily in ensemble playing with other harmonicas - bass harmonica, chord harmonica, and, of course, Polyphonia and Chromatica (by the way, the Hohner bass harmonica is part of the Chromatica series.)

But what it all might have to do is Eric Clapton is still a bit of a mystery - the seller is a Clapton worshipper, perhaps?

Even more, is there anyone knowing of a harmonica band with a
Chromatica? I always thought it's an instrument for musicians who
usually don't play harmonica, but are bugged by their conductor to do
so...
