8th FESTIVAL OF HARMONICAS - THIS SWEET HARP
February 23, 2008
Mokronog, SLOVENIA

2nd International Competition of Harmonica Players
Organized in two categories with different themes and styles:

CATEGORY A – classical, soloistic, melodic type of playing, with the 
accompaniment of a piano (there is one on
the stage), of other polyphone instrument, or of a smaller ensemble. The 
selection of the compositions or
arrangements should be from the field of classical and/or pop music.

CATEGORY B – blues. Every soloist can perform the chosen pieces of music 
with the accompaniment of one or
more musical instruments.

Every contestant in each category can perform three pieces of music (in 
category A, three different parts of one
composition can be chosen). The allotted time for all three pieces is 10 
(ten) minutes, exceptionally 12 (twelve)
minutes. If you overrun, marks will be deducted.

There is no age limit for the contestants, and they can come from 
Slovenia or any other country.
The applications must include: first name and surname, address, date of 
birth, and contacts (phone number, fax,
e-mail address).
The choice of your programme with the estimated time of your performance 
and the chosen category must also be
stated.
The contestants in category A are asked to send us the music notes for 
the judges at least two weeks before the
festival. The names of the judges for both categories will be announced 
at a later date.

The contest will take part in the hall of “Kulturni dom” in Mokronog, on 
the 23rd February, 2008:
 - In the morning for the category A and
 - In the afternoon for the category B.

The schedule and the timetable will be announced when the number of the 
participants is known.

The results will be announced after the finished competitions in each 
category.
The winners will be awarded in the evening before the gala concert.
The best contestants will also perform their pieces of music to the gala 
concert audience.

As usual, there is a social gathering after the concert.
The accommodation for the contestants from faraway will be provided for.
