[Harp-L] Bill Monroe and the Dirt Band

Here is another element to the complexity of the thinking of Bill Monroe. In the late 70s The Nitty Gritty Band was putting together what was to become one of the classic bluegrass albums of the century "Will theCircle Be Unbroken". In doing this, they asked Earl Scruggs, Maybell Carter, Doc Watson, and Roy Acuff to join them and they all accepted. Bill was also asked to asked to join, but turned down the offer, saying something like, "Not traditional enough."

Could the reason for this statement was because one of The Dirt Band members, Jeff Hannah was playing harmonica?
