[Harp-L] re: fame



Nothing wrong with aiming for fame. Lot's of side benefits you can gain from
the trip, even if you never make your destinaiton.

Destination may be a little vague though. What exactly do you want?
Adulation? Don't need a huge fan base for that. Do you want the kind of
media coverage that celebrities get?  There's easier ways to do that than be
a virtuso harmonica player. You want money? Again, harmonica is probably not
the best avenue for that. Harmonica may not be the best venue for attracting
attractive partners either althoug you can make lot of inuendos about
playing with your tongue.

If you want to fill huge outdoor arenas with thousands of screaming fans who
hang on to every note of your harmonica solo, go for it. Practice for 6-8
hours every day and work on some stage antics. It's a bit hard with
harmonica, though. You can set the thing on fire and smash it into your amp
and no one is apt to notice.
