IMO,

Fast or Slow....if I were gonna communicate what this Groove is to other Musicians, I'd say let's play the BOOGIE groove....but only a musician with experience with Blues would really understand that 'feel'.....either version to me is not FUNK...is it Funky? YES
it's a slow or fast BOOGIE Groove. I agree with JR Junior Wellss 'Messin with the Kid' or even
'Snatch is Back' are FUNKY Blues in my book.
