The 150th anny plates do look like a Big River to me. Honestly, I loved that coverplate and used to put it on my Wood MS models. Like Staggerin' Jim said, the 1847 doesn't have the side holes, that is a pretty big difference, you can hear it if you block the side holes on a Marine Band and listen for the change in tone. The 1847 is also quite a bit thicker. 
  I've also noticed similarities between the Seydel Session, especially the Seydel Favorite and the old Hohner Meisterklasse plates. Seydel and Hohner plates are designed by are designed by different people, but I imagine there is a finite number of shapes you can make a coverplate in.
