Sure it does... my case lays flat (the way 
you would normally open it so that the harps 
do not spill out) keeping the harps upright (holes
up).

Again, I believe the settling of the reed would
depend on how long the harmonica would lay dormant and
flat.

Which makes me wonder how Seydel packs the individual
harmonicas (I assume in a big box) and labels the big
box appropriately with 'This Side Up'.
