Re: [Harp-L] Delta Frost (was seydel 1847 harp)

I recently ordered a few Frosts from Bushman and it took about a month to get them. Still haven't recieved the Db. Their delay, I was told, was that they were in the process of moving and were behind on orders.

Speaking about the Delta Frost: I noticed that it disappeared
slowly from many stores in the past 2-3 months or simply was
out of stock. Does anybody of the list know the reason
for this?

Kind regards

Tom (Berne)

After reading so many glowing recommendations on this list, I finally
forked over the bucks for the Seydel. I have to say, I don't
feel it's
any better ( for me) than the Bushman Delta Frost or my SP20s. It's a
good harp, but I can buy 4 or 5 SP20s and gap them a little and get
just as much happiness.
My main complaint is the edge of the reed plate being so
sharp. This
has always bothered me with harps that have these types of
plates that
protrude just enough and have an edge. I play mostly lip block and I
guess I must shove the harp harder into my lower lip than I realize.
Anyway a few minutes of playing and my lower lip was already
sore. Now,
I have noticed that as I have gotten old(er), my lips are much more
sensitive, but this won't work for me.
I will get some steel wool and try to smooth or round that
edge, but
it seems like a harp that costs $85 plus shipping should not need to
have something like that done to it.
Oh well, I'll add it to my collection and work on it to
see if I can
make it more comfortable.
One of the reasons I liked the Delta Frost when it came out was that
it didn't bother my lips at all.
