Re: Re: [Harp-L] beginner gear?

My harp mike has a volume control, and I can't imagine playing into my
Smokey without it. It's WAY too loud and distorted at full gain. For a
mike with no volume control, I'd consider a different mini-amp.

| I never tried a bottle-o-blues-mic, but i bought one of these Smokey
| amps. For playing harp it has way too much gain, in my opinion. Overly
| distorted with my Shure 545 and other CR/CM mics, and it takes me to
| feedback city as well...
| Maybe it works better with a volume control on the mic, but without
| that...no, it's a toy.
|
| But with guitar it really smokes - it always causes a lot of laughing,
| whenever a jam session is finished ("Guys, you have to finish 'cause of
| the neighborship, it's already 2 am!") and we sit around a table then,
| having some talk and drinks, and i pick my guitar and the Smokey Amp...
