One thing I could never understand: why does so much of harp playing
consist of playing the same Little Walter licks, over and over again,
more than 50 years later?! He did not invent the harmonica, and his is
just one way of playing it. His legacy is indisputable, nevertheless
an
art form must progress.

Guitar players have long moved beyond Jimi Hendrix. There is a great
variety of guitar styles to be inspired from today. Robert Cray sounds
nothing like JJ Cale, JJ Cale sounds nothing like Keith Richards, and
none of them sound like Buddy Guy.

Early exposure to Little Walter may seriously harm your originality.
